Overview
The Tsunami is a multitool, with multiple variants providing a full range of firepower and offensive capability. The design was built to be modular — not in the field, but in assembly. Three major variants share a common chassis that support crews praise for adequate space, well-designated wiring runs, and easy diagnostics.
Capabilities
The AS-60A is the air superiority variant, built to tangle with Corsairs and similar medium fighters. Magna Hellstar PPCs provide devastating long-range punch, backed by Defiance B3M lasers in each wing. The Starheart 240 engine — the same power plant used in ground vehicles and BattleMechs — demonstrates the Common Heart program's logistics philosophy.
Deployment
The C models are especially valued for two-phased support — starting with sustained LRM fire to break through enemy air cover, then diving in for ground attack while their A model wingmates keep any remaining fighters occupied. Mixed squadrons deploy A and C variants together, with B variants held for anti-DropShip strikes.
History
The Tsunami was one of the first products of the Common Heart program (3005), establishing TriStar's aerospace manufacturing capability. The modular assembly philosophy pioneered by the Tsunami influenced all subsequent Memphis Motive Works aerospace designs.
