What changed: Following the execution of Lady Death (D-001), New Hati and the five sister worlds were brought under military authority — nominally Federated Suns, practically Periphery March formations and the TSG, with TriStar Interstellar funding reconstruction. The Dominion Charter of 3049, ratified just before the Clan invasion, established an independent parliamentary democracy with close FedSuns ties, constitutional/treaty demilitarization (the state owns no military assets), and formal neutrality serving as the trading seam between the Federated Commonwealth and the Taurian Concordat. What changed: The capital world's 460-year water crisis is solved between 3030 and 3065 through the collision of three perspectives: Taurian colonization/water-purification engineering (reservoir mapped 3038 — ninety years of fossil water left), TriStar commercial extraction (Sinkhole Bay works turn alkaline brine into lithium/alkali exports from 3039), and a surprise NAIS intervention (3041 astrophysics expedition drawn by the subgiant primary; agro-genetics teams deliver alkali-tolerant halophyte crops, first harvest 3051). What changed: Mararn's 3-day jump point transit makes it the crossing of three TriStar trunk routes by 3030 (Concordat run, Dominion line, Outback loop). Commerce-class station Three Routes commissioned 3032 — and for twenty years ("the Overhead Years") wealth transships three days up while the raid-shattered planet below is ignored and Dominion reconstruction flows to its attackers. The canon CDP separatist plot occurs (the Creel Plot, broken by FCIS mercenaries 3055) but here becomes the catalyst for surface investment. New Gascony is established as the hostage-settled, Franco-descended frontier world of the Dominions — explaining its non-piratical name — and the state's rimward customs gate. D-006: Lackland — The Water World That Waited for a Shipping Company

What changed: Unlike D-001–D-005, this divergence flows from the universe's ROOT divergence — the First Succession War famine alliance that created the Memphis–Sherwood–Lackland triple system. Canon Lackland's serial failures (aquaculture eaten by the Mothers of the Ocean, unprofitable water/mineral exports, Defire's money-pit habitats) are diagnosed as a logistics problem: production was never the issue, shipping cost was. Starr Traders' famine fish runs (2790s) make aquaculture succeed under locally written Pen Law; TriStar-financed cliff habitats make rare-mineral and brine extraction pay from the 2900s; Defire's canon-doomed modernization pays out here. What changed: Full planetary treatment of the PM capital. Geography settled: four great cities (Memphis on the Chickasaw bluffs, Stars End aerospace port/first landing, Deseret on the desert plateau, Sitka geothermal cave-farm city), ~25 Landings, 400M population (3070), rainbow deserts, Sharptooth Mountains. What changed: Canon's remote, low-traffic Sherwood becomes the triple system's provisioner and armorer via the famine alliance: quota forestry under Sherwood Green, Huntingdon cattle, and Trolland & Trolland small arms (absorbed by TriStar early 3030s). Sherwood Green's camouflage properties — proven against SLDF orbital intel in the Blade century — make the world the March's hidden deep arsenal and war school (the Jabberwocky School). The 7th Sherwood Rangers carry the volunteer tradition; their 4SW Sarmaxa raid (proposed fill for the source history's XXXXXXX placeholder) — broadcasting evac routes to Capellan civilians via tri-vid C3 — becomes their defining act. Addendum (D-008b): Sherwood industry. T&T also produces artillery — the Sniper system (Malice AW-50 E1 main gun; tubes in the Ledger Barrage). Greene & Harvester HQ'd in Marion: ag machinery and GH PowerMaxx fuel-cell powerplants, born of Sherwood Green emissions law. The Malice AW-50 wheeled AFV family (source: /military/readout.php?type=AW50A2) is built on Sherwood — GH plants, T&T guns. CONTINUITY RESOLVED: Rommel/Patton run 3020–3027 confirmed; MMS takeover complete 3028, timed with the 4SW's outbreak. Memphis article and D-007 updated.

Addendum (D-008a): House Jefferies. Foremost of the five founding baronial families. Grayson Jefferies, second son, commissions into the TSG in the late 3040s — scandalizing a tradition that assumed AFFC service — and serves with distinction through the Clan wars; post-Luthien the choice becomes unimpeachable, and Sherwood's noble second children now split commissions evenly between AFFC and Guards. RESOLVED: Grayson Jefferies is the current interim Commander of the TSG (since mid-3060s†), holding brigade command at the rank of Colonel — the Colonel-General rank reserved for the permanent (Star) commander. Trusted precisely because he cannot be a Star. Still open: his regiment of origin (7th proposed†), Luthien service, appointment date, and the Jefferies heir generation.

AMENDMENT (D-008a): House Jefferies established as the senior of Sherwood's five baronial families ("the Tylers hold the crown; the Jefferies hold the room"). Grayson Jefferies, second son, takes a TSG commission in the late 3040s over the traditional AFFC path — planetary scandal, then precedent, as his distinguished Clan-wars service (incl. Luthien) legitimizes Guards commissions for March nobility ("the Grayson Precedent"). Open: Grayson's position by 3070 — senior colonel? A third name in the succession question alongside the Star twins?

*AMENDMENT (D-008a, per The Longest Run):* RESOLVED — regiment of origin CONFIRMED as the 7th Sherwood Rangers (Jabberwocky selections sat anonymously under his mother's maiden name; ranked third; the Long Room dinner and the declined Albion appointment, autumn 3049; Baron Aldous Jefferies, elder brother Everett). Luthien service told in full: Lt., 3rd Platoon, Baker Company, 7th — walked wounded out of the river pocket with eleven of his people alive; his sworn account of the old man's stand is the canonical one. Returns 3053 a captain with a Kurita campaign ribbon; the sixth frame goes on the Long Room wall with the training sergeant's welcome ("You'll be wanting no favors, then") engraved beneath; by autumn 3053 Sherwood's noble second children split commissions evenly and the society pages name the Precedent. D-009: The Quiet File, the Contained Jihad, and the Coalition That Never Was

THE QUIET FILE — MIIO's posture. MIIO was never blind to the Periphery March. The shadow government, the TSG's true purpose, the Defiance coup, even the outlines of the Set traffic anomaly — decades of accurate field reporting existed. It was simply not always forwarded, and rarely acted upon, because the analytical consensus held from the 2800s onward: nobility strives to secure power for its family; a corporation wants a calm operating environment. The March's behavior profile was corporate — stability-seeking, profit-rational, allergic to disorder — and every prediction made on that model came true. The black box deal is the visible tip of this understanding: Hanse Davion didn't discover the March in the 3020s, he priced it. The Quiet File doctrine is why the PM's autonomy was never confronted: New Avalon's spies concluded, correctly, that the Federated Suns' most reliable frontier was the one governing itself.

THE CONTAINED JIHAD. The Jihad occurs — terrible and terrifying; New Avalon burns, the wider Inner Sphere suffers canon-scale horror. But in the Periphery March it is contained, for one reason with centuries of roots: TriStar never stopped treating ComStar as a hostile intelligence service, and after 3052 it extended the file to the Word of Blake with special attention (the Set Settlement of 3054 made Memphis a named enemy of the Blakist narrative, and Memphis knew it). By the mid-3060s the March's counterintelligence culture — turned adepts, traffic analysis run against its OWN network as a control, the media brokerage as a propaganda seismograph, the naming-confusion tradecraft — had identified and quietly rooted out WoB cells, compromised HPG staff, and sleeper assets across the region. When the Blackout came, the March did not go dark: the Set station and the commercial black box network kept the Periphery March the only continuously networked region of the Federated Suns. The Jihad here is a war the March watches, supplies against, and grieves — not one it drowns in.

THE COALITION THAT NEVER WAS. The Filtvelt Coalition does not exist. Its canon preconditions — an outback abandoned by the AFFS, defenseless against Jihad-era piracy, voiceless on New Avalon — are absent: the TSG and corporate contract forces garrison the region, the Dominion defense rotation anchors the rimward flank, Commerce stations make piracy a poor career, and the March's worlds have had a voice (and a freight discount) for two centuries. Canon triggers specifically erased: the Lake Lionheart raid (3070, Sherwood) cannot occur; Mararn and Lackland are prosperous and integrated; the 3072 secession votes never convene. Individual grievances flow through PM institutions instead of out of the Federated Suns.

D-010: The Star Guards in the Clan Invasion — Luthien and the Name

What changed: At the Clan Invasion's outbreak the TSG raises two new line regiments — the 21st Morven Grenadiers (heavy assault) and 33rd Broken Wheel Cavalry (fast/hypermobile) — atop the standing supporting structure (Memphis Battalion, Extraction Companies, two Security Regiments, five independent 'Mech companies with dedicated Unions, Fleet Protection Wing). TSG elements answer the call to Luthien, and Colonel-General Tennessee Starr, 60, dies in the January 3052 defense of the Kurita capital — the same battle that immortalized the Wolf's Dragoons and Kell Hounds. The unit adopts "TriStar Guards" as its official name; the TSG abbreviation deliberately persists.

Lore assertion: the "Class of 3020" — Battleaxe II, Malice AW-50, and the Memphis Rommel run all debut in 3020 as the triple system's rearmament response to the Starr assassinations, meaning the TSG's 3023 stand-up drew on production lines already running. Trio doctrine: one chassis (built on the Victor's internal structure — common FS spares), three loadouts, two of three ammo-free (energy doctrine); the IIB an unapologetic Awesome copy ("Yes. You're welcome."). Nicknames: the A (woodcutter), IIB "the Maul," IIC "the Tomahawk." D-014: The Common Heart Program and the TDR-60B Thunderbolt

Lore assertion (CORRECTED): the Common Heart program is TRISTAR'S defining rearmament document, drafted in the 3010s after the Starr assassinations, mandating the 240 fusion engine (MMW's standard since the 2830 Mongoose lines) across all new 'Mech production — pragmatism over optimization. The Thunderbolt II family: MMW engineers revive a 2610 SL pattern that had already done the 60-ton arithmetic (kept in production as the TDR-60B — jump, all-energy specialist), then build the definitive TDR-60A (3025, PPC/LRM-15/3ML, StarGuard Heavy, by far the more numerous) — MMW gave its own model the A designation and filed the League's original as B. Engine family branded StarHeart 240 (Common Heart's self-reference). NOTE: the TDR-60A readout lists a "StarHeart 200" — confirmed typo, engine is the 240 (4/6 on 60t). Nothing we cannot fix in a barn"); first fruit the 2830 Mongoose/240 line; the 3010s Rearmament Edition is the document the March means. StarHeart 240 designed for manufacture/repair ease above all. Licensed weapons standard (field-sourceable + revenue): Improved Magna Hellstar PPC, Defiance B3M ML, Holly SRM-6/LRM-15, AC/10 + Defiance Killer Type T (Rommel legacy), T&T artillery and MGs.
